Wireless charging for car-sized cell phones?
Visible in the Chroma Systems Solutions Inc. booth was this test stand for analyzing wireless charging schemes, but for vehicles rather than phones. Test stands have to provide up to 22 kVA for such tests and must simulate roll, pitch, and yaw angular and displacement offsets between the charging and receiving coils to ensure the whole scheme meets SAE standards, hence the reason for the positioning equipment visible here. Chroma’s Morgan Li also gave a technical presentation about what goes into these tests at the show’s Open Technology Forum. www.chromausa.com
